Vanessa and Fabio’s wedding in Bologna, Italy, was the perfect mix of rustic and chic. With a very clear style in mind they wanted a classy yet fun day, filled with thought of details and little touches to surprise their guests.
It was published on One Fab Day yesterday. Such an honor!
We chose a charming palette of neutral tones with green accents and a botanical and natural feel for the decorations, a lot of reclaimed wood and bark elements, soft and romantic lace and pretty linens. Every small detail was accented by the custom made stationery, from the invite to the customized placemats to the favor bags, a true work of art. The wedding day was moving and emotional but also relaxed and fun. It started with an afternoon catholic ceremony in the couple’s hometown cathedral, surrounded by family and friends. Then it moved to a charming venue in the hills close to Bologna, where guests were encouraged to mingle, drink and eat and sway to the live swing music played by a live band. After the aperitivo hours they were welcomed inside a reclaimed barn that was set up as an elegant dinner room, where a traditional yet light italian dinner was served. While the grown ups were busy stuffing their faces the little ones were entertained in a reserved area, decorated with paper cut little forest animals and elements that reminded of an enchanted woodland. The night continued outside under the hanging cafe lights for more dancing and the cake cutting. Sweet treats were displayed on vintage furniture and the traditional candied almonds, in assorted flavors, were shown off on the bride’s vintage sewing table. The party it culminated with the celebration of the Bride’s birthday after midnight, complete with a dress change, a pretty cake with a bow on top (of course!) and a sparkler getaway. A truly perfect wedding!
