Designing and planning this wedding for Ilaria and Andrea was a dream come true: we clicked right away both on a personal level (they are two sweethearts, truly) and from an aesthetic point of view. And they wanted to create a relaxed but memorable experience for their guests: my cup of tea! They were dreaming of a chic and intimate dinner wedding with touches of glam and vintage, all tied together in a romantic atmosphere. We went for a romantic palette of pink, ivory, blush and aqua with the smallest hint of shine and glitter, chose carefully every flower, every fabric, every ribbon and every candle. It was actually a very enjoyable process since they put complete trust in me and the vendors that helped make this vision become reality: from the stationery, a mix of the custom design from Valentina of Cut and Paste lab and the hand callighraphy of Gentle People, to the lush and romantic delicate flowers and decor created by Il Profumo dei Fiori. We can’t avoid mentioning the catering, impeccable in their organization but mostly on the really amazing food: Dove vuoi. The cake designer, a friend of the couple that made an amazing chocolate cake covered in lush buttercream and handmade sugar peonies, not to mention beautifully frosted cupcakes and excuisite macarons. And of course the location, La Scrivana, a true jem that is so fascinating that it really doesn’t need too much additional decor to feel like a genuinely beautiful place. And I can’t end if not mentioning the amazing pictures shot by Lisa Poggi, that really show the magic, romance and overall fairytale atmosphere of that unforgettable day of June.
Oh Ilaria and Andrea’s wedding was published on Style me Pretty too!
“Are you serious? Really?”
This is the most common reaction that we got from relatives and friends when we announced, almost a year in advance, that we were getting married… but the surprise wasn’t actually in the announcement, it was in hearing the plans that were forming in our (well, maybe more in mine) minds: a church, the white dress all tulle-tulle-tulle, the bridesmaids, the shades of pink, the lace.
Well, it could have sounded strange that I, tipically against everything traditional, found myself dreaming about something sweet, romantic, elegant and a little retrò…
And then… Laura came along, and she gave body and soul to that dream. She shaped it and made it tangible, she interpreted it with taste and great care, she guided us with passion and she introduced us to many special people that created the magic of that day through many carefully crafted details.
We fell in love with the venue, a wonderful country villa from the 1500’s, right away: love at first sight. We have been enchanted by its lightly decadent flair and its park made of trees that have been there for centuries, and we couldn’t not dream of ourselves there, dancing, smiling, holding the other’s hand. From that moment everything came together naturally: the colors, the style, the atmosphere. It was actually even easyer to choose my dress!
The decor was a real surprise for our guest: we were actually flooded with compliments and praise from our friends and loved ones for this or that detail, for the food, mouthwatering and unique but always in line with the Italian tradition, and the table settings. Knowing that we gave a little joy to all of our guests is one of the most wonderful memories of that day.
That day… when we couldn’t stop looking at each other with a smile. I remember entering the church with my father, that not even a month before made us all so worried for a serious health problem. And my husband’s words when we arrived at the villa: “it’s all so beautifu!”… he was probably referring to the most wonderful and emotional day of our lives to date, actually. But maybe he had also noticed the ribbons that ran on the tables that matched our color palette, the lights that were hanging through the trees, the perfume of the peonies and the roses that were everywhere…Well I haven’t asked him yet 🙂
